Mediation & Arbitration
Darlene is available on a select case-by-case basis to serve as a private mediator or arbitrator for an existing matter. To inquire about availability and rates, please email or call.
A neutral third-party mediator can help the parties reach a voluntary settlement agreement, avoiding the risks and costs of continued litigation.
With her experience in handling complex civil and probate litigation matters, as well as appeals, and over a decade of helping her clients through successful mediations, Darlene understands the value of a good mediation session. Based on the nature of the matter and the preference of the parties, her mediation style can be faciliative, evaluative, or a combination of both.
Darlene also serves as an arbitrator in several forums, and is available for private arbitration services with flexibility on the parties’ choice of procedural rules.
Remote videoconference sessions can be a great convenience and cost savings for parties and attorneys. Appearing on screen, however, can reduce human connections and trust building, obscure body language and credibility assessments, and make focusing on the task at hand more difficult.
Darlene’s preference is for in-person sessions for mediations and arbitrations. However, if the parties prefer, mediations and arbitrations may be conducted via fully remote videoconferece such as Zoom, or a hybrid in-person with some witnesses or parties appearing remotely.
